New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that due to the policies and decisions of his government, new opportunities for employment and self-employment are also being created in rural India.
Addressing the job fair held after distributing appointment letters to more than 71 thousand newly appointed youths in government departments and organizations, the Prime Minister said that in the last one and a half years, nearly 1 million permanent government jobs have been provided and a remarkable record has been set. .
“These jobs have been awarded with full transparency, and the new appointees are serving the country with dedication and integrity,” he said.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the country’s development depends on the hard work, ability and leadership of the youth and that India is committed to becoming a developed nation by 2047 as the country’s policies and decisions focus on empowering the talented youth.
He said that initiatives like Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, Startup India, Stand-up India, and Digital India have put the youth at the forefront over the past decade.
Pointing out that India is now the world’s fifth largest economy and third largest startup ecosystem, Modi said today’s Indian youth are full of new confidence and are excelling in every field.
“Today, young entrepreneurs who start startups benefit from a strong support system. Similarly, young people who are going to pursue a career in sports are now confident that they will not fail as they are supported by modern training and competitions,” he said.
The Prime Minister emphasized that nurturing young talent is important to advance the country’s progress and build a new India, and this responsibility lies with the education system.
He noted that the National Education Policy (NEP) is guiding India towards a modern education system that provides new opportunities to students, while earlier, the system was restrictive, but now it promotes innovation through initiatives like Atal Tinkering Labs and PM-SHRI Schools.
“The government has also addressed language barriers for rural youth and marginalized communities by providing instruction and examinations in the mother tongue and conducting entrance examinations in 13 languages. Besides, the quota of youth from the border areas has been increased with a special recruitment drive for permanent government jobs. Today, more than 50,000 youth received appointment letters in the Central Armed Police Force, a significant achievement,” the Prime Minister said.
Mentioning that there are a large number of women among the recruits, Modi said that it was his government’s effort to ensure that they (women) became self-reliant in every field. “Thousands of women have received appointment letters today and their success will inspire others. The government is committed to make women independent in every field. “The introduction of 26 weeks maternity leave has saved the careers of millions of women,” he said.
The Prime Minister highlighted how the “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” has removed barriers to the advancement of women, as many girl students had to drop out of school due to lack of separate toilets.
He said the “Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana” has ensured financial support for girls’ education and 30 crore “Jan Dhan” accounts for women have provided direct benefits from government schemes.
“Through Mudra Yojana, women can now access mortgage-free loans. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has ensured that more houses are in women’s names. Initiatives like Poshan Abhiyan, Suraksha Matritwa Abhiyan, and Ayushman Bharat provide better healthcare to women,” Modi said. said
Speaking on the occasion of the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh today, the Prime Minister said that the government feels privileged to honor him with the Bharat Ratna this year.
“We also celebrate this day as Kisan Diwas, honoring the farmers who provide us with food. Chaudhary Sahib believed that the progress of India depends on the progress of rural India.
