The Telangana government has announced that government offices and educational institutions will remain closed on Friday (27 December 2024) to commemorate the death of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. According to the official media, an order has been issued to observe a week-long mourning period.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has expressed his condolences to the bereaved family members of Mahmohan Singh.
“The great economist, leader, reformer and above all a humanitarian of our time Mr. #Manmohansingh No more. A man of virtue, impeccable integrity, marked above all by a human touch in decision-making, Dr Singh is the true architect of a new India. He showed how essential aspects of politeness and class are in political and public life. He is a legend whose death India has lost a great son. Indeed, in his own words, history will treat him more kindly and respectfully than his time,β Mr Reddy posted on X (formerly Twitter).
