Man accused of murdering friend in Bangalore claims to be in same-sex relationship Bangalore News

Bengaluru police on Sunday said they have arrested a 29-year-old man for allegedly murdering his friend with whom he was allegedly in a relationship.

According to the Madannayakanahalli police, Chetan claimed that the victim was in a relationship with Pradeep S, 41, a resident of Thimma Bovipalya near Dashnapura on Tumkuru Road. Chetan had been staying with Pradeep in the fourth floor apartment of Pradeep’s family for the past two months.

It is alleged that on December 16, Chetan killed Pradeep by throwing a cigarette, hitting his head against the wall and beating him to death. A tenant who had heard noises from Pradeep’s house the previous night went to check on him the next morning. The tenant told the police that the door was stuck from outside and when he opened it, he found Pradeep’s body in the hall strewn with cigarette packs, liquor pouches and other wrappers.

Pradeep, who passed BCA, was unemployed for two years. Although married to a 10-year-old son, a resident of Shivanahalli, Rajajinagar, he was living separately in the Thimmabhovipalya house due to marital discord with his wife. Pradeep lived on the fourth floor and rented the other three floors.

“We are unaware of any same-sex relationship or how Chetan and Pradeep became friends. We assumed that Chetan was a tenant,” Pradeep’s brother Praveen told reporters.

According to Praveen’s complaint, Chetan called his mother on December 15 and complained. Pradeep also told his mother about Chetan’s violent behavior but assured the family that he would handle the situation.

Police registered a case of murder and found Chetan in Salem, Tamil Nadu. He was taken into custody and brought to Bengaluru on Saturday night.

During interrogation, Chetan admitted that he had frequent fights with Pradeep and alleged that Pradeep sometimes opposed their relationship. The police said that he admitted to burning Pradeep with a cigarette and beating him during the fight.
