Balancing his passion for theater with his burgeoning film career, the budding actor said, “For a stage play, you have to spend six to eight weeks. After that, it’s about taking a few days off for rehearsals and performances.” Despite juggling projects in various mediums, he insists that theater is his first love.

Theater is my passion. I have been performing in India since 2017 after training at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and briefly working with their repertory company. Since then, I have done about seven or eight plays and hundreds of shows,’ he added.

Junaid also shared his admiration for generational artists. “There are many great actors like Amitabh Bachchan sirIrrfan Khan, Shah Rukh, Kareena (Kapoor Khan), Rani (Mukherjee), and Shabana Azmi, who are brilliant both on screen and on stage,” he said. However, judging performances, especially in films, is not something he engages in.

“The performance of a film depends a lot on the director and the technical setup. On stage, you can rate a performance, but it doesn’t hold much value for movies,” he notes.

Junaid has two theatrical releases slated for 2025. “I have a film produced by Phantom Films releasing on February 7. It’s a fun rom-com starring Khushi Kapoor, which is different from my last period drama Maharaj,” he said. The next project is a film directed by Sunil Pandey and backed by his father’s banner Aamir Khan Productions.
