The Jankey Committee has intensified the agitation demanding the construction of an underpass or an elevated highway at Payalkulangara near Ambalappuzha on National Highway (NH) 66. The committee had carried out relay satyagraha two weeks ago.
He said that the development projects should be implemented in such a way that the lives of the people are not disturbed and the National Highway Authority should pay due attention to their concerns.
Meanwhile, residents of Kayamkulam have demanded construction of an elevated highway on NH 66 between Chirakkadavam and Shaheedar Masjid Junction. They said the ongoing widening of the NH would divide Kayamkulam town into two parts. Road users, especially elderly people and students, will face significant difficulties while crossing the NH.
