Kannur district has planned a comprehensive health awareness project to combat the epidemic

The health department has proposed a year-round health awareness program in the district to combat the epidemics of jaundice, dengue, malaria and others.

District Medical Officer (DMO) Dr. Piyush M. Nambuthiripad presented the initiative.

The project will be included in the annual plan of the Panchayat and Municipality. Key activities include collection of water samples, testing in government laboratories, chlorination of water sources, disinfection and fogging to control mosquito-borne diseases.

Along with the distribution of posters and leaflets, ward level education sessions will be conducted to increase public health awareness. Local self-government bodies across the district will actively participate in the initiative.
