Bangalore: Kannada film actor Sivarajkumar has been cured of his cancer after gallbladder surgery at a hospital in Miami, US, the surgeon who operated on him said in a video message.
Dr Murugesh Manoharan also said that artificial urine was made using the actor’s intestines.
In the video, the surgeon was seen with Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa and Sivarajkumar’s wife Geeta. Geeta is Bangarappa’s sister.
Later, the actor’s family shared a press release saying, “We are happy to share an update on Shivarajkumar’s recent medical procedure. The surgery earlier on Wednesday was a success and we are happy to report that Shivarajkumar is now in stable condition and recovering well.”
Manoharan confirmed that the operation was a success and said that Sivarajkumar’s vitals remained stable during the operation and post-operative care.
The actor is currently receiving exceptional care from a dedicated team of highly skilled doctors and medical staff under surveillance to ensure his continued recovery and well-being, the statement said.
The family also expressed their gratitude to Shivarajkumar’s fans, colleagues and well-wishers for their steadfast support and prayers. More updates about the actor’s recovery will be shared in due course, they added.
Shivarajkumar is the eldest son of Kannada matinee idol Rajkumar. He is the eldest of three actor brothers, Punit Rajkumar and Raghavendra Rajkumar.
He has acted in more than 125 Kannada movies. He made his silver screen debut in 1974 with the film ‘Srinivasan Kalyan’.
He left his mark with movies like ‘Janumada Jodi’, ‘Jogi’, ‘Anand’, ‘Rath Saptami’, ‘Nammura Mandara Huwe’, ‘Om’ and ‘Chigurida Kanasu’.
