Jasprit Bumrah Among Top 3 Contenders Nominated For ICC Men’s Player For November Cricket News

Jasprit Bumrah was nominated for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for November after his blistering performance against Australia in the first Test in Perth, where he took 8 wickets in 2 innings and scored 295 runs as captain.

Bumrah is one of three contenders for the award, including South Africa’s Marco Jensen and Pakistan’s Haris Rauf.

Last month, Bumrah regained the No. 1 spot in the ICC Test Bowling Rankings after his impressive performance in Perth.

Bumrah’s haul of five for 30 and three for 42 helped him reach a career-best rating of 883, the highest ever by an Indian seamer, ahead of Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood and South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada. Only spinners Ravichandran Ashwin (904) and Ravindra Jadeja (899) have scored higher among Indian bowlers.

This year, Bumrah has topped the rankings for the third time. He was in the top spot for each of two one-month stretches beginning in February and October.

Meanwhile, Jensen took 7 wickets in an innings in the Durban Test against Sri Lanka before an impressive performance in the T20I series against India which the Proteas won by 233 runs.

Rauf has been nominated for inspiring Pakistan’s first ODI series win in Australia since 2002.

Bangladesh’s Sharmin Akhtar, South Africa’s Nadine de Klerk and England’s Danny Wyatt-Hose are among the contenders for the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for November.

Akhtar led from the front in the first ODI clash against Ireland at Mirpur, while de Klerk earned his place among the contenders to top the run-scoring and wicket-taking charts for South Africa in the T20I series against England. The visitors can boast opener Wyatt-Hodge on the shortlist as a scintillating set of scores helped England claim the series 3-0.
