Top NDA leaders will meet at BJP president JP Nadda’s residence on Wednesday evening to discuss several issues, including the recent Ambedkar controversy.
Sources said that on the agenda were Union Home Minister Dr BR Ambedkar’s “insulting” comments and coordination controversy.
Major legislations like One Nation One Election and Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024 are also likely to be discussed. Both the Bills have been referred to the Joint Parliamentary Committee for scrutiny.
Seat sharing for the upcoming Delhi elections is also likely to be discussed among NDA allies.
Context: Last week, protests escalated after two BJP MPs β Pratap Chandra Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput β were injured in a clash between NDA and Bharat Bloc lawmakers protesting Shah’s remarks outside Parliament’s Makar Dwar. Following the incident, Delhi Police registered an FIR against Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and booked him for assault.
Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the river linking project in Madhya Pradesh
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the Ken-Betwa river linking project at Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday, the first such initiative under the National River Interlinking Policy.
Around 4.4 lakh people in 10 districts of Madhya Pradesh and 2.1 lakh people in Uttar Pradesh will get drinking water under the project estimated to cost Rs 44,605 ββcrore, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said on Tuesday.
About 7.18 lakh farmer families in 2,000 villages will benefit from the project, which will also generate 103 MW of hydropower and 27 MW of solar power, he said.
“Prime Minister Modi is coming to Khajuraho in Chhatarpur district on this 25th of January to lay the foundation stone of this project which will change the image and destiny of Bundelkhand in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh,” said Yadav.
The Ken-Betwa link project is a unique example of cooperation and coordination between the central government, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, he said.
Amit Shah will inaugurate more than 10 thousand cooperatives
Union Minister for Cooperatives Amit Shah will on Wednesday inaugurate 10,000 newly established Multipurpose Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (M-PACS) along with dairy and fisheries cooperatives.
He will also distribute registration certificates, RuPay Kisan Credit Cards (KCC), and micro ATMs to cooperatives. Union Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairy and Panchayati Raj Minister Rajeev Ranjan Singh and other dignitaries and senior officials will participate in the programme.
