Bathukamma Kunta in Janagaon crying for care

Warangal: Bathukamma Kunta, the only amusement park in the district, has been stalled due to lack of interest and interest from the management.

Residents of Jangaon town and those coming to the district headquarters from outside have nowhere to go as it is the only place for entertainment in the town.

Although this Jangaon is under the supervision of the municipality, there have been accusations of serious negligence such as zero management of sanitation, bad street lights, polluted drains and smelly toilets.

In 2014, the BRS government undertook the beautification of Dharmani Kunta which was renamed Bathukamma Kunta. The government has decided to convert it like Komati Cheruvu in Siddipet and Tank Bund in Hyderabad.

The government had also sanctioned two crore rupees in two phases (2014, 2018). A wide field, a walking track around the pond, a helipad and an open gym have been constructed. At the same time, the authorities have started celebrating the Bathukamma and Dashain festivals by constructing the Durga Matha temple.

Improper installation of gym equipment without CCTV monitoring has led to construction of boating facilities, children’s play garden and more gardens. Residents have requested the government to complete the remaining work as soon as possible.

Members of the Walker Association said that Bathukamma Kunat ground can be used in various ways, but due to lack of maintenance, it cannot be used. After the remaining work is completed, the Walkers Association is ready to take over the responsibility of installing CCTV.

Local councilor Vankoduth Anitha said Deccan Chronicle The government had sanctioned Rs. 90 lakhs. The authorities should construct the compound wall around Bathukamma Kunta and complete the remaining works. She said that the district collector, local MLA and civic officials have drawn attention to this matter.

Meanwhile, Additional Collector Pinkesh Kumar and Municipal President Pokal Jamuna directed officials to inspect Bathukamma Kunta and submit a report along with proposals for development work.
