A day later Sambhal District Administration The “Ancient Temple” reopenedChief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday hit out at the Congress and other opposition parties, questioning why the victims of the “Sambal massacre” in 1978 were not given justice even after 46 years of the incident.
Why the culprits of the murder case in Sambhal have not been prosecuted till date? Adityanath asked this question while speaking at an event in Lucknow.
In 1978, 13 people were killed in a riot in Sambhal town.
He said that when the discussion on the constitution was going on in the Parliament on Saturday (violence on 24th November), the issue of Sambhal was also raised. Targeting the opposition, he said that during their rule 46 years ago, a temple in Sambhal was closed and their true nature was exposed.
He said, ‘Such an ancient temple with Bajrangbali idol and Jyotirlinga could not have appeared overnight. “What was the fault of the innocent people who were killed in Sambhal? Anyone who speaks the truth is threatened and silenced,’ he added.
The Chief Minister slammed the Congress for its “double standards”, saying that those who claim to represent India are now “indulging in hypocrisy in the name of the Constitution”.
