IIM Calcutta has outlined its MBA admission policy for 2025-27. The selection process consists of two stages. More details below.
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta has announced the admission policy for the 2025-27 Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme. A valid Common Entrance Test (CAT) score is mandatory, and candidates must also fulfill certain other criteria. Here is a detailed look at the eligibility and selection process for IIM Calcutta MBA Admission 2025.

IIM Calcutta MBA Admission: Eligibility Criteria
- A valid Common Entrance Test (CAT) score
- Bachelor Degree with minimum 50% marks or equivalent CGPA.
- For SC, ST and PwD candidates, the minimum marks required in the degree examination is 45 percent or its equivalent CGPA.
- For dual degree or integrated master’s degree candidates, marks obtained in the graduation level equivalent examination will be considered. In case the institute does not segregate dual degree marks at UG and PG level, PG marks will be treated as UG marks.
- Candidates appearing for final year degree examination and having fulfilled the degree requirements and awaiting results can also apply. If selected, such candidates may join the program provisionally after submitting a certificate (issued before June 30, 2025) stating that they have fulfilled the degree requirements.
- Candidates who are yet to complete Integrated Masters or Dual Degree Program will be considered for aggregate percentage of marks in all years/semesters till 3rd August.
- Candidates who have passed graduation in 2020, 21, 22 or 23 for whom the universities have not conducted the examination or have given only passing marks must submit a certificate from the Principal/Registrar in support of this claim.
- Those who have not received their post graduation results at the time of registration must submit original and photocopies of certificates and mark sheets before December 31, 2025.

IIM Calcutta MBA Admission: Selection Process
The selection process will consist of two phases. In the first phase, IIM Calcutta will shortlist candidates in CAT 2024 based on minimum percentage β both section-wise and overall.
These are the minimum requirements of CAT percentage for Phase I

IIM Calcutta mentions that the actual section-wise and overall percentile cut-off may be higher than the minimum percentage mentioned above depending on the number of candidates called for Personal Interview (PI).

After this stage, IIM Calcutta will again shortlist the candidates by giving weightage to various components for personal interview and written aptitude test:
CAT 2024 Score: 56
Class 10 Marks: 10
Class 12 Marks: 15
Gender Diversity Factor: 4 (for female and transgender candidates)
After the PI and WAT rounds, IIM Calcutta will receive the overall score for final selection. The parameters and weightage for final selection for MBA program are:
CAT 2024 Score: 30
PI: 48
WAT: 8
Marks Awarded for Educational Diversity at Undergraduate and Postgraduate Level for Non-Engineering Degrees and Professional Qualifications: 6
Work Experience: 8
The final selection list will be based on merit in each category, IIM Calcutta said.
