Hoax bomb threats hit 20 schools in Delhi, fourth in a week | Delhi News

In the fourth incident in a week, around 20 schools in Delhi, including Delhi Public School in RK Puram, received another bomb threat via email on Monday. Police said an email was sent to the school around 1:30 a.m. and the first phone call came in around 7 a.m. alerting police to the situation.

“We did an extensive check and found nothing suspicious,” a senior official told The Indian Express.

Along with this, around 100 schools in Delhi-NCR have received similar threats through emails on four separate occasions since December 9. Around 40 schools have received emails threatening to detonate multiple bombs placed on school campuses across Delhi on December 9. four days later, Another 30 schools received bomb threats via email.

On Saturday, five schools in Delhi, two in Gurgaon and one college campus in Noida received similar emails. DPS RK Puram received the emails on Saturday and December 9 before declaring both the threats as hoaxes.

In the past eight months, many prominent institutions in Delhi – schools, colleges, hospitals and airports – have received several bomb threats which ultimately turned out to be hoaxes.
