“Besides Vineet, Tirtha and Vandana, he is responsible for the deaths of Surendra Kumar Solanki alias Surendra Matiala, president of BJP Kisan Morcha of Najafgarh; Gunda Surajbhan alias Ballu Pahlwan, who was shot dead outside a gym in Faridabad, along with INLD Haryana unit president Nafe Singh Rathi and members of his security team who were killed at Bahadurgarh in Jhajjar,” police said.

“Sangwan’s brother-in-law was murdered in December 2015 by members of the Ashok Pradhan gang. One of those involved in the murder was the victim’s brother. Ashok Pradhan is also the uncle of one of the deceased in the Panchkula murder,” the official said.

Pradhan is now in Tihar Jail along with his colleague gangster Manjit Mahal.

According to the police, Vineet and Theerth ran a gambling racket in Haryana. The last rites were performed after their bodies reached Najafgarh on Tuesday afternoon.

On Monday, the police said in a statement that according to preliminary investigations, Vineet has five criminal cases against him, including murder and robbery. In 2019, a case was registered in Panchkula’s Sector 20 police station.

The shooting happened when the victims were leaving after participating in the birthday program of Rohit Bhardwaj, a resident of Zirakpur. An FIR was registered at the Pinjore police station based on the complaint that Ashish, a resident of Zirakpur, also participated in the party.

Ashish said that the party started at 10:30 pm and lasted till 2:30 am. “At 2.40 in the morning, Vineet, Teertha and Vandana left for their Scorpio car. As soon as Tirtha sat in the passenger seat, two/three youths started firing indiscriminately. All three were injured in the shooting. The attackers fled after shooting in the air,’ he told the police.
