According to TOIThe incident took place at Bhimtal, a popular tourist spot about 20 km from Nainital. After receiving the information, the authorities started a search and rescue operation.
The bus going towards Haldwani fell into a deep ditch when the driver lost control.
Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami posted on ‘X’ and expressed his grief over the incident. He wrote, ‘The news that 4 people died in an unfortunate bus accident near Bhimtal is very heartbreaking. Praying for the eternal peace of the soul of the deceased, I pray to God to give strength to the bereaved family to bear this immense loss. .

“The critically injured are being treated at Sushila Tiwari Government Hospital, Haldwani, and a team of doctors from AIIMS Rishikesh has also been sent to Haldwani. I pray to God for speedy recovery of all the injured,” the Chief Minister added.
