Hyderabad: Police arrested Indrajit Ghorai on the charge of stealing from brother Ranjit’s house in Domalguda on January 12. Indrajit, advocate Mohammad Noor Ullah and eight others attacked Ranjit’s house and stole 2 kg of gold and other property worth Rs 1.2 crore. Commissioner CV Anand said.
Police said that Indrajit Ghorai got angry saying that his brother was doing well. Indrajit shared the plan to rob his brother with two men named Altaf Mohammad Khan and Syed Irfan Ahmed, who agreed to form a gang for the purpose.
Advocate Noor Ullah allegedly planned and instructed his associates to recover the place. The four later recruited other accused Altaf, Habib Hussain, Arbaaz and Shabbir.
On the night of November 12, the gang went to the victim’s house in a car they had taken out armed with. Once there, they attacked the prisoners and looted the gold.
Anand said that he recovered the loot and handed it over to the Domalguda police along with the accused.
19-year-old student commits suicide in RGIA hostel
RGIA police said on Sunday that a 19-year-old student committed suicide in the hostel on Saturday evening. RGIA inspector K Balaraju said that the victim was a student of Avish Vardhaman College and was staying in the hostel.
Avish was suspected to be under academic pressure. Avish committed suicide while alone in the room.
While returning home, his roommate found the body. On Saturday evening, Avish’s parents received a call from the hostel informing them that he had committed suicide. After the parents informed the police, a case was registered and an investigation was started.
Killing of private company employees in Bowanpally
An employee of a private company, Mohammad Sameer, 28, was killed by unidentified persons in Bowenpally on Sunday morning. Five assailants who came on two motorcycles stopped Sameer and stabbed him and ran away.
The police said that it may have been an honor killing. According to the police, Sameer had fallen in love and married a girl against the family’s wishes a few months ago and was living in a rented house.
The police suspect that the girl’s family may have killed Sameer. It is said that four people have been detained for questioning. The body of the deceased has been handed over to the family after post-mortem at Gandhi Hospital.
Unidentified attack on a place of worship in Moinabad
Inspector G Pawan Kumar Reddy of Moinabad said that unknown persons attacked the place of worship on Friday. The incident came to light during the opening of the temple on Saturday. The police have registered a case and started investigation. Police said there was no CCTV camera at the scene.
A fire broke out in a dry cleaning shop in Hyderabad due to a short circuit
The Rajendranagar Police said that when a fire broke out in a dry cleaning shop at around 8 am on Sunday morning, the clothes given by dozens of customers were burnt. According to Veechandra Naik, fire officer of Rajendranagar station, the fire broke out due to a short circuit. The fire was extinguished within an hour. It is said that there was a loss of property worth around 1.5 lakhs. The case was not registered as no complaint was filed with the police.
Dairy units in Hyderabad cited for hygiene and safety lapses
The state task force team has uncovered lapses in hygiene and safety standards in dairy units during raids. Inspectors at Durga Dairy Products in Sultan Bazar identified flaky ceilings, holey flooring and inadequate drainage. The unit was found to be stocking expired artificial flavoring agents, including vanilla and lemon concentrates, some of which had expired in 2020. Additional errors included improperly fitted doors, allowing insects to enter, and food handlers operating without hair caps.
In NR Milk House at Rahatnagar in Amberpet, the inner structure has rusted iron sheets with holes and the premises are filled with pitch, uneven floors, waterlogging and stench. Direct access to toilets in construction areas was identified as a significant contamination risk.
The inspection revealed unsanitary conditions in the house, including flies, mosquitoes and insects such as cockroaches, garbage thrown indiscriminately on the floor. Food handlers lacked aprons, headgear and shoe covers, and were seen spitting on the unit.
