Borabanda police arrested four people on Monday night on the charge of raping a minor girl.
The incident came to light after the girl’s neighbor made a distress call, following which the police rushed to the spot and arrested one of the men, all natives of Bihar.
According to the police, in the midnight of November 23 and 24, the victim was returning home to Boraband with her male friend when four people on two wheelers stopped the autorickshaw. While two sat in the autorickshaw, the other two followed the motorcycle.
“The accused obstructed the way when the victim and her boyfriend tried to get down. They threatened the auto driver and let him go. They took the couple to a secluded place and demanded money from them. One of them held the boy while the other three forced the girl to her uncle’s house and tried to sexually assault her,” said Inspector S. of Borabanda. Veerasekhar said.
When the girl managed to escape to her house in the back, the accused followed her, threatened her family with a blade and sexually assaulted her again, the official said. When people gathered at the spot, three of them managed to escape but were arrested after some time.
The four have been booked on various charges including gang rape, false imprisonment, assault, coercion or criminal force, defamation of women, voluntary injury, criminal intimidation, domestic encroachment, etc. was run. Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.
