CMS has reunited 10 missing children with their parents in Bhawani Diksha

Vijayawada: The Child Monitoring System (CMS) operating at Sri Durga Malleswara Swami Varala Devasthanam at Indrakiladri in Vijayawada has reunited 10 children with their parents who went missing during the five-day Bhavani Diksha Viramana Bhid.

District Collector Dr. G. Around 12,000 children were geo-tagging with QR-based wristbands in this first-of-its-kind initiative launched by the NTR district administration under the leadership of Laxmisha.

About 60 teams of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) were deployed at Vijayawada city railway station, bus station, entry and exit points as well as Durga Mandir lines. These teams collected the names and contact details of the parents of the children under the age of five.

ICDS staff entered these details into the CMS, which generated a unique QR wristband for each child.

β€œOn scanning the QR code on the child’s wristband, we were provided with the details of his/her parents, as well as their contact information. This enabled us to identify the missing children and reunite them with their parents,” explained Laxmisha.
