Hyderabad: The students said that the delay in conducting the Group-II examination had negatively affected their preparation and motivation. Only 214 out of 504 students participated in the morning session and 212 in the afternoon session at the Center for Arts and Social Sciences, with a total turnout of 40 percent.
“Constant rescheduling disrupted study plans and demotivated many,” said candidate Diksha. Another student added, “Many of my friends did not appear in the exam because they had moved on with their lives due to the long delay.”
University officials confirmed that strict measures have been taken to prevent abuse and adequate facilities like water and sanitation have been provided. In addition, the examination centers accommodated disabled candidates with wheelchair facilities.
A senior management official of the University College of Engineering, Osmania University commented, “Out of the 432 registered students, only 40 per cent appeared in the examination.”
At the Osmania University Centre, concerns raised by students included difficulty of the question paper and inconvenient examination center allotment.
Venkatesh commented, “This paper was a little tougher compared to Group 4 and 3,” while Navneetha expressed concern that the lack of negative marking would hurt well-prepared students.
