Dinakaran called for speedy implementation of the repair work of Sornavur Anicut

Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) general secretary TTV Dinakaran on Monday (December 16, 2024) called on the Tamil Nadu government to complete the repair of Sornavur Anicut at the earliest.

In a post on his social media handle, Mr. Dinakaran said around 4,000 acres of cultivation had been affected due to the recent floods in the erstwhile Pennaiyar river in Cuddalore district due to leakages developed by Anicut. Although Rs 320 million was allocated initially for the strengthening of Anicut, the farmers of the area had complained that the Anicut had suffered due to the delay in implementation.
