Hyderabad: Diamond Jubilee High School (DJHS), run under the flagship of Aga Khan Education Services (AKES), celebrated its 75th anniversary with a two-day celebration beginning December 21, with the theme, ‘A Journey Through Time, Celebrating 75 Years of Excellence. .’
The first day saw alumni return to their alma mater and share stories of how the school shaped their lives. Among them were bureaucrats, lawyers, filmmakers, architects, doctors, engineers and entrepreneurs.
Aga Khan Education Services (India) Chairman Shiraj Vastani, CEO Farhad Merchant and Directors Noorin Dhamani, Monisha Tejani and Rishad Jiwani were present in the event.
Speakers at the event highlighted the pivotal role of alumni in promoting the school’s journey and growth. Dhamani expressed his gratitude to the alumni for their continued association with the school.
The festival also featured cultural performances tracing the school’s journey from 1949 to 2024.
Speaking at the event, former chief secretary of AP Jayaprakash Narayan advocated good governance and education reform. India badminton coach SM Arif, a Padma Shri and Dronacharya awardee and DJHS alumnus, was the guest of honour.
DJHS Principal Sujata Gade thanked all those present for their support in making the event a success.
