Craft fair started at Shilparam

Hyderabad: The All India Craft Fair began on Sunday at Shilparam in Madhapur, inaugurated by Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao. Organized in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Textiles and the National Jute Board, the fair has more than 400 stalls of handlooms, handicrafts, terracotta, sugarcane, bamboo, jute products and blue pottery.

Skilled artisans will perform live at the fair, which runs till December 31.

The cultural program, which starts at 5:45 pm, will feature folk songs and classical performances by artists from India, Austin, Dubai, Richmond and Atlanta. Of the 400 stalls, 100 are sponsored by the Union Ministry of Textiles, 31 by the National Jute Board and over 300 by Shilparam.

Among the officers present at the inauguration, Shilparam Special Officer G. Kishan Rao, Director of Bunkar Seva Kendra Arun Kumar and Shilparamam General Manager Narasimhulu.
