Coastal areas are likely to receive rain from Tuesday

The low pressure area over southeast Bay of Bengal is more marked and is likely to move west-northwestwards towards the Tamil Nadu coast in the next two days, so there is a possibility of rain from Tuesday onwards. Heavy rain is likely over Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Kallakurichi, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Tiruchirappalli, Thanjavur, and Pudukottai districts and isolated places of Puducherry. On Wednesday, light to moderate rain is likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. Areas of lightening with thunder and lightning at one or two places. Heavy to very heavy rain is likely at isolated places over Cuddalore and Villupuram districts and Puducherry. Heavy rain is likely at isolated places in Tiruvallur, Chennai, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, Thiruvannamalai, Kallakurichi, Myladuthurai, Nagapattinam and Tiruvarur districts.
