The Hyderabad Traffic Police has issued a clarification regarding the false and misleading information circulated on social media regarding exemptions in pending traffic e-challans. According to officials, these claims about exemptions are completely false and aimed at misleading the public.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic), P. Vishwa Prasad said the department has categorically rejected any offer of relaxation on pending traffic e-challans. He said that such claims are fraudulent and mischievous and urged the citizens not to believe such false information.
Announcements only through verified platforms
The Hyderabad Traffic Police has reiterated that all official announcements regarding e-challan and other matters are communicated through verified platforms only. This includes the Telangana Police e-Challan website, accessible at https://echallan.tspolice.gov.in/publicview/, and the department’s official social media accounts.
The public is advised to be cautious and not share or forward unverified messages. “Spreading fake information can cause unnecessary confusion and is a punishable offense under the law. Citizens are encouraged to verify the authenticity of any information before sharing it,” he said.
Helpline numbers and website to clear queries
For clarifications or queries regarding pending traffic e-challans, Hyderabad Traffic Police has provided dedicated helpline numbers (040-27852772 and 040-27852721). Citizens can also visit the official e-challan website for accurate information.
