The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has filed a complaint with the police against two schools in Delhi for allegedly submitting fake or forged land certificates. The schools in question are Manav Bhavna Public School located at Nathupura Main Road, Burari and Sat Saheb Public School located at C-Block, Som Bazar, Nanhe Park, Uttam Nagar.
In a press release, CBSE clarified that it follows a strict process for granting affiliation to schools. The affiliation process requires schools to submit mandatory documents, including land certificates, which are then closely scrutinized. To ensure authenticity, the board verifies these documents with the issuing authorities.
During the verification process, the CBSE found that the land certificates submitted by the two schools were fake and had not been issued by the authorities concerned. Thereafter, the Board filed a police complaint against both the schools at the Preet Vihar Police Station, seeking legal action under the Act.
CBSE reiterated its commitment to maintain high standards in the affiliation process and ensure that affiliation is granted only to schools that meet all the necessary requirements. The board had earlier issued show cause notices to more than 30 schools for not following its provisions and rules.
