A group on Monday Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) examinees protested on December 13 demanding cancellation of the BPSC 70th Integrated Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024 due to alleged question paper leak. On December 24, BPSC Chairman Parmar Rai Manubhai ruled out the cancellation of the 70th CCE 2024, as reported by PTI. However, he clarified that the commission will conduct the re-examination on December 13 for the candidates who have been assigned to the Bapu exam Parisar exam center. Despite this, many candidates have been demanding the cancellation of the exam. According to PTI, on Wednesday, police lathi-charged the protestors after some broke the barricade near the BPSC office in Patna and blocked the traffic.
“Despite repeated requests by the security personnel, they refused to vacate the road. This is a restricted area where protests are not allowed. Finally, mild force, including lathi charge, was used to disperse the protesters,” said Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Rajeev Mishra, reported PTI.
On the one hand, the protestors have been claiming that two to three people were injured in the lathi charge, while the police have denied the allegations.

The protestors alleged that the question paper of BPSC 70th CCE was released before the examination started in some centres. Although they have been demanding to cancel the exam, the commission has refused to cancel the entire exam.

BPSC latest notification about re-examination
Recently, the Commission issued a notification regarding the re-examination of 70th CCE for the candidates from Patna Examination Centre. As per notification, BPSC 70th CCE re-examination will be held on January 4, 2025. In the interest of the candidates, BPSC has decided to conduct the re-examination.
