Amidst the film release, fans are checking the movies about OTT details. After its theatrical run, Barroz will be available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar, as confirmed by the film team.
Set in Goa in 1663 AD, the story of the film follows Burrows (played by Mohanlal), a loyal servant who guards a hidden treasure for 400 years. Bound by an ancient curse, Barrows waits for the rightful heir to come along and claim the treasure. His duties begin when a Portuguese king entrusts Burroughs with guarding the treasure after performing a dark ritual.
Barroz is locked in a cellar with only a voodoo doll and his mission is to find the key to the treasure vault of Da Gama’s true heir. As a benevolent ghost Burroughs now protects the treasure from evil forces in hopes of breaking free from the curse. The big question is: Who is the rightful successor and will Burroughs ever be freed from his eternal duties?
The movie also stars Maya Rao West, Cesar Llorente Reton, Ignacio Mateos, Caliroi Giafetta among others. The film is based on Jijo Punnooz’s novel Burroughs: Guardian of Digama Treasure. The screenplay was written by Kalavur Ravikumar and the original score was composed by Mark Killian. The cinematography is done by Santosh Sivan and the editing is done by B Ajith Kumar.
