BRS MLAs drive autos in Telangana assembly demanding welfare board, ₹ 12,000 annual assistance to auto drivers

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLAs on Wednesday (December 18, 2024) took out an auto-driving rally at the Telangana Legislative Assembly in Hyderabad, raising issues faced by auto drivers and demanding assurances of their implementation.

On the fourth day of the third legislative assembly, BRS working president KT Rama Rao, former ministers Vemula Prashant Reddy, T Padma Rao Goud and others drove an auto to the assembly.

They said the state government has promised to set up a welfare board for auto drivers and provide financial assistance of Rs 12,000 annually. Opposition legislators demanded that they be implemented and support the families of auto drivers who ended their lives.
