An elderly couple died in a road accident in Vizianagaram district

An elderly couple died in a road accident at Polipalli near Bhogpuram in Vizianagaram district on Thursday evening. Meanwhile, two other members of the family were seriously injured. According to the police, the family from Tamil Nadu was returning home after visiting Srimukhalingam temple in Srikakulam district when his car met with an accident.

The accident took place when the couple’s son, who was driving the car while trying to overtake a lorry, lost control of the vehicle near Polipally village. He and his wife were injured and admitted to Bhogpuram Hospital for treatment. Vizianagaram Superintendent of Police (SP) Vakul Jindal directed Bhogpuram Circle Inspector (CI) Prabhakar Rao to inform the family members of the victims about the incident and take steps to shift the bodies after the post-mortem is completed.
