The Ahmedabad city police on Wednesday rolled out artificial intelligence-based dashcam systems interceptors in patrolling vehicles, which will capture traffic violations like not wearing helmets or seat belts, “triple riding” and driving on the wrong side.

These cameras detect and automatically record violations, improve the efficiency and accuracy of information as well as provide real-time monitoring of traffic flow, enabling traffic officials to keep a close eye on the actual traffic situation, a statement said. Police on Wednesday.

Under the first installment of the program, dashcams (dashboard cameras) have been installed in 60 vehicles.
