Ahmedabad Police gave an award to a short film that created awareness about traffic rules India news

The Ahmedabad city police on Tuesday awarded the winners of its traffic short film making competition, which was organized with the aim of creating more awareness among the public about traffic laws and safety.

The competition was organized in collaboration with Traffic Trust. A total of 707 entries were registered in this competition, out of which 458 short films were submitted within the stipulated time limit.

A panel of judges shortlisted the top 53 short films earlier this year, selecting first the 15 best entries and then the final 10, who received awards.

The themes of these short films include driving without helmet, driving in wrong direction, ‘triple riding’, using mobile phone while driving, driving without seat belt, driving at high speed, not obeying traffic signals.

Pradeep Vaghela’s entry “Bus Be Minette (Just Two Minutes)” was adjudged the best short film and received a prize of Rs 2 lakh.

This was followed by Shailesh R Boghani’s “Yeh To Samjdaar Hai, Par Aap???” (They are intelligent, what about you?)”, which bagged Rs 1.5 lakh and Vipul Shah’s “Jokar” bagged Rs 1 lakh.

Seven others in the top 10 received letters of commendation. The awards were presented by Minister of State for Home (MoS), Harsh Sanghvi and DGP Vikas Sahay.
