A young man attempted suicide in Tadwai due to police repression

comrade: A young man tried to commit suicide at Tadwai Police Station on Thursday in protest against police misconduct while driving under the influence of alcohol. Keshari Gangadhar of Tadwai is among the deceased.

According to sources, Keshari Gangadhar was drinking alcohol in a wine shop with his relative Gangadhar from Indalwai in Nizamabad district. While returning home, they were arrested by the police for driving under the influence of alcohol on the Kamareddy-Yellareddy highway on Wednesday.

Police seized Gangadhar’s motorcycle and sent the accused to Tadwai police station. Keshari Gangadhar asked the authorities to leave the motorcycle, assuring that he would pay the penalty and appear in the court if the case is filed. However, the police did not respond to his request. Keshari Gangadhar panicked and threatened to climb a tree inside the police station and jump.

Although the police asked him to come down, Gangadhar jumped after drinking a quarter of a bottle of liquor while sitting on a tree.

The cops placed a bed under a tree for a cushion to fall on, but unfortunately, it failed. Keshari Gangadhar was seriously injured and was taken to Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad for treatment.

It was confirmed on Thursday that Gangadhar’s leg and arm were broken in the incident. He has a wife and two children.
