A child has died in an accident in Nedumangarh

A child died and six others were injured in a car accident near Nedumangarh on Saturday midnight.

The incident took place in Puthukulangara when a group of seven people including two children were going from Nedumangadh to Parandode near Arynad.

As the driver lost control of the vehicle while approaching the bridge, it is believed that the car hit a tree and the back door was opened. As a result, Ritwik, a two-and-a-half-year-old boy, was thrown from the car and the car ran over him. The child was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was later taken to the district hospital mortuary while the injured were taken to Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College Hospital.

According to the police, if the car had not hit the tree, it would have fallen into the river. Parents of the deceased’s parents are Vishnu and Karishma.
