VijayawadaA person was arrested on Wednesday for trying to steal gold jewelery using a fake pistol in Kakinada.
According to the I Town Police, the man entered a jewelery shop on the pretext of buying jewellery. Pretending to browse, he grabbed some things, fired a pistol to threaten the staff and tried to escape. However, with the help of the traffic police, the employees of the shop chased him and managed to catch him. Later, the suspect was handed over to the police.
The police have taken him into custody and are interrogating him to reveal his background. He had attempted theft with the quantity of gold he was trying to steal. Officials of the jewelery shop are also going through the records to ascertain how much gold is involved in the incident.
