Medical Counseling Committee, MCC has opened the resignation window for those NEET PG 2024 candidates who want to opt out of Round 1 and Round 2 seats. Candidates who wish to resign from their seats can do so on the official website mcc.nic.in.
Candidates should note that the window for resigning Round 1 and Round 2 seats will close on December 26, 2024 by 6 PM.
Notably, the decision was taken by the MCC following requests from PG candidates who wanted to resign from their Round-1 or Round-2 seats due to various reasons.

The official notification reads, “MCC has received several requests from PG candidates who want to resign from their Round-1 or Round-2 seats due to various reasons. In this regard, the competent authority has decided to resign such candidates. Candidates who wish to vacate their Round-1 or Round-2 seats may do so from 04:00 PM on 17.12.2024 to 06:00 PM on 26.12.2024.
Important guidelines to keep in mind:
- Candidates who have been allotted a new seat in round-2 but want to resign can vacate the seat by forfeiting the deposit within the time of resignation.
- Candidates who want to resign from their seat even though they joined the upgraded seat in round-2 can vacate the seat by forfeiting the bond within the specified time.
- Candidates will have to physically report to the allotted college to vacate their seats, says the MCC.
- Candidates are advised to ensure that their resignation letter is generated online (via portal provided by MCC) by the allotted college, failing which the resignation will be treated as ‘Null & Void’ as per MCC.

Meanwhile, MCC opened intramcc portal for contribution of seats for Round 3 of PG Counseling 2024 from all participating PG institutes (AIQ/deemed/Central Universities/Central Institutes).

The last date for such participating institutions to contribute their seats is December 12, 2024 at 5 PM.

MCC has said that after the end of Round 2 Counseling 2024 the institutes with increased seats by NMC can contribute additional seats / new seats on the portal.
However, the MCC has also asked the institutions not to contribute to the seats remaining vacant after Round-2 due to ‘non-reporting’/’cancellation’/’resignation’ or having contributed in earlier rounds.
