UP government achieves 1.60 lakh recruitment in education, Yogi Adityanath highlights reforms

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday highlighted the government’s achievements in the education sector on the second day of the winter session of the state assembly. “Our government has successfully completed more than 1.60 lakh recruitments in the education sector,” Adityanath said.
Addressing the concerns raised by SP MLAs Manoj Kumar Paras, Pooja and Pankaj Patel, the Chief Minister acknowledged the importance and sensitivity of their issues but asked the members to present facts while maintaining the dignity of the House.
The Chief Minister said that a new selection board, Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission, has been constituted to streamline recruitment in the education sector including basic, secondary, higher, technical, vocational and medical education.
“The commission is taking demands from various departments and taking the recruitment process forward. Our government has successfully recruited more than 160,000 in the education department alone – the posts which were not filled due to mismanagement and wrong intentions of the previous government,” he said. said
Addressing the challenge of unemployment, the Chief Minister said, “Uttar Pradesh is the youngest state in the world. 56 to 60 percent of the state’s population of 25 crores is youth of working age. Our government has implemented many initiatives. Focus on the youth of the state.”
He added that in the last session, the Uttar Pradesh government has passed the Public Examinations and Prevention of Unfair Means Act-2024 to effectively prevent incidents of paper leaks.
“The youth of the state are now securing government jobs with honesty and transparency, strictly following the reservation rules,” he said.
The Chief Minister said that the figures submitted by some members were incorrect.
β€œFor the recruitment of teachers for Basic Education and Secondary Education Councils in Uttar Pradesh, appointment letters have been issued to 69,000 teachers, all of whom have been teaching in schools for the past four years.
“Earlier, recruitment was done for 68,500 teachers, but at that time, NCTE did not recognize BEd candidates as eligible for the examination, and there were insufficient BTC-eligible candidates. As a result, only 42,000 teachers were recruited. And now teaching in Basic Education Council schools Appointment letters have been issued to all who came,’ he said.
The Chief Minister said that in the recruitment of 69,000 teachers, more than 32,200 youths from these categories have been appointed in 18,000 posts reserved for the backward classes in 27 percent quota.
Similarly, more than 14,000 candidates have been appointed in 12,000 reserved posts under 21 percent reservation for Scheduled Castes.
This shows that even the best candidates based on their abilities and qualifications are placed in the general category. Of the 34,500 posts reserved for the general category, only 20,000 have been recruited. These facts should serve as an eye opener for those who are trying to create division in the society for political gains,” he said.
Adityanath also criticized previous governments for “compromising” on the quality of education. He said that the Secondary Education Selection Commission Board and the Higher Education Selection Commission Board have successfully completed the recruitment process of more than 44,000 teachers.
