Qubo Q600 Smart Air Purifier Review

Just when we thought we had met our quota of smoggy days for the year, pollution is back with a vengeance in NCR. Thankfully, this also solves my problem of how to review the air purifiers I was sent this year. The latest spike in pollution happened the day I set up the new Qubo Q600 Smart Air Purifier in my bedroom, suddenly giving it a sense of purpose.

I thought the Qubo Q600 looked similar to the Xiaomi range of air purifiers ( review ) and had the same filtering mechanism inside. That means they’re easy for anyone to set up — you just need to remove the filter, remove its polyethylene cover and put it back in. You can then set up the device using the Qubo app so you can take control. Air purifier remotely as well as gather some insights about the air quality in your room. Qubo does some nice hand-holding for new customers by sharing a set-up guide via WhatsApp, which is a nice touch. But the app is not mandatory to run the air purifier.

On the device, you have an LED panel that shows speed settings and an auto mode, as well as a power button flanked by QSense AI mode. On the front, this panel shows your AQI level in real time with color coding from green to red depending on how bad the indoor air quality is.

When I started, the AQI level was mostly green and the Qubo Q600 was able to bring it down to PM 2.5 levels of around 25 in a few minutes. However, in the past few days, the air purifier usually starts in yellow mode and the room range is more than 100 and then goes down to about 25 in 15-20 minutes. In auto mode, this also means that the device is running at full throttle for the first few minutes. Along with an auto mode that adjusts the fan speed based on the AQI level, there is QSenseAI where the device turns off if the air is good. It can switch again if the levels deteriorate.

One of the things I like about the Qubo Q600 is that it’s one of the quietest air purifiers I’ve tested. You can’t even hear it at night, although I found that the LEDs can be a bit too bright when you’re trying to sleep. Thankfully, you can adjust the intensity of the light and even mute the beep sounds using the app. The app has other cool features like a countdown mode for switching off. It comes with table mode. There is also a child lock for homes with naughty children.

At Rs 14,990, the Qubo Q600 is one of the simplest and most effective air purifiers you can opt for this season. How this air purifier covers all the bases without any gimmicks and gives you a clear understanding of the air quality in your room, even without you reaching for a smartphone app. The Qubo Q600 is suitable for living rooms and bedrooms where you have little control over airflow and may not be suitable for large open spaces.
