Apna Dal (Sonelal) leader and Uttar Pradesh Technical Education Minister Ashish Patel made the allegation on Monday (December 16, 2024).After allegations of irregularities in the promotion of professors in his department, a conspiracy was hatched to ‘kill’ him politically. Apna Dal (Sonelal) is an ally of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) under the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Union Minister Anupriya Patel’s husband Shri Patel has also said that he will resign from the ministerial post on the same day as the Prime Minister told him to do. This reaction of the minister came after allegations were made that more than one hundred professors were promoted against the reservation norms in the Technical Education Department.
Apna Dal (Kamravadi) leader, another faction of the original Apna Dal, and Samajwadi Party MLA Pallavi Patel, who is Anupriya Patel’s elder sister, alleged irregularities in the technical education department. Another BJP MLA has also made similar allegations.
“Baseless and unfounded allegations are being made in the media and social media as a conspiracy to assassinate me politically. The entire UP knows how the interests of the employees from marginalized sections are being protected in the technical education department during my tenure as minister. Truth cannot be harmed. If the Hon’ble Chief Minister deems it necessary, the allegations should be investigated by the CBI,’ said Mr. Patel.
“He (UP CM) should also get every decision taken by me as a minister checked by the CBI. I will resign from the post of minister without a second’s delay on the day the Honorable Prime Minister orders,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ms. Pallavi Patel staged a protest outside the UP Assembly on Monday demanding her resignation, alleging irregularities in the Technical Education Department under Mr. Patel.
