Sambhal’s atmosphere deteriorated due to Friday’s prayer speech, says Yogi Lucknow News

Defending the survey at the Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal, CM Yogi Adityanath said in the Assembly on Monday that the atmosphere was disturbed due to the nature of the speech during Friday prayers, two days after the court-ordered exercise.

It is also mentioned in the Babarnama that Adityanath destroyed the Harihar temple and built the structure.

Four people were killed when violence erupted in Sambhal on November 24 in protest against a court-ordered survey of mosques.

They (the opposition) are trying to hide the truth, but no one can hide the sun, the moon and the truth. The truth will come out soon,” the Chief Minister said while responding to the demand of Leader of the Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey and other SP members to discuss the violence and similar incidents in Sambhal and Bahraich.

The Sambhal violence case rocked the opening day of the winter session, with the opposition accusing the administration of a “conspiracy” behind the violence. However, Adityanath claimed that 209 people from a particular community had been killed in various incidents of communal violence in Sambhal since 1947.

Sambhal MLA Iqbal Mahmood alleged that after the completion of the survey, the chanting of “Jai Shri Ram” had incited violence. The chief minister later denied the allegations. –With PTI inputs
