Security lapses came to light during Diljit Dosanjh’s live concert, where 105 mobile phones were reported stolen despite a significant police presence and drone surveillance. The incident took place on the evening of December 14, and the number of complaints is increasing. So far, 105 cases have been officially registered, with officials estimating that a total of over 150 victims will come forward.
This is not the first time such an incident has happened in a live show. Earlier, a similar situation was seen in Karan Aujla’s concert, but this time the amount of theft has increased significantly. Initially, only 21 complaints were registered, but this number increased as participants realized their phones were missing.
Many concertgoers alleged that security checks at entrances were inadequate, allowing people with valid tickets or passes to enter without full screening. Thieves took advantage of the crowded area to successfully steal the phones despite drone cameras being used to monitor the area.
Although the police were deployed at the spot, efforts to arrest the culprits at the spot failed. Earlier, due to the lack of effective preventive measures, the incidents of theft in Karan Aujla’s program had started repeating. Many participants have approached the police to file a complaint about their phone being stolen.
