Tamilisai Soundararajan condemned Kanimozhi for his Thoothukudi flood comments

Senior BJP leader and former Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan slammed Thoothukudi MP Kanimozhi for downplaying the impact of the recent floods in the region. In a post on social media platform X, Tamilisai accused the DMK leader of misleading the public about the ongoing problems caused by heavy rains and floods.

“In Thoothukudi, you honorable MP Mrs. @KanimozhiDMK, claim no damage due to rain. Are all media reports wrong? Or is your statement an outright lie?” Tamilisai asked in his X post.

Pointing out the contradiction between Kanimozhi’s statement and ground reality, she said, “Is walking in knee-deep water a way to mislead people under the guise of the Dravidian model by claiming that there is no rain damage?”

Tamilisai criticized Kanimozhi for allegedly ignoring the visible hardships the people faced due to the rains and questioned his damage assessment. “How can you claim that there is no damage when people are suffering due to rain and flood? What do you think is the measure of damage caused by rain and flood?”

The BJP leader also lashed out at the DMK’s point of view, accusing them of demanding a substantial amount in Parliament before the official teams assessed the extent of the damage. The comments have sparked a heated political exchange, with supporters and critics on both sides weighing in on the issue.

The floods in Thoothukudi have caused widespread disruption, with media reports highlighting the struggles of affected residents. Tamilisai’s comments underscore political tensions over relief efforts and accountability in the region.
