Deepak Patel, general secretary of BJP’s Omjha city unit in Mehsana district, has been removed from the post by the party after he filed his candidature in the Omjha Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) general elections in violation of the party’s mandate.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mehsana District President Girish Rajgor has issued an order to remove Patel from the post of Unjha City General Secretary of the party with immediate effect.
Rajgor said that Rajgor had given mandate to the members of various parties in the election and Patel disrespected the mandate and continued to contest against them in the election. That is why he was removed from the post, he said.
Voting for the Unjha APMC election will be held on Monday. Omjha APMC is considered to be the world’s largest wholesale market for cumin.
