Hyderabad: A day before the resumption of the Legislative Assembly session, the Congress on Sunday accused the BRS of spreading misinformation about the state government’s performance and alleged that the opposition had learned no lesson from its defeat.
Alleging in an open letter, TPCC chief B. Mahesh Kumar Goud accused BRS president and former chief minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was asked to participate in the assembly sessions and give constructive advice.
Goud said that even after the people ended the divisive BRS regime, neither Chandrasekhar Rao, his family members, nor his party leaders seemed to introspect or change their ways over the election results.
“Restricting yourself to your farmhouse while criticizing the welfare initiatives of the Congress government highlights the disconnect between your party and the aspirations of the people,” Goud wrote. “The people of Telangana, who endured ten years of misrule by your family, now accept the transformative changes brought by the Congress and will not be swayed by baseless propaganda.”
The TPCC chief alleged that Rao’s rule was marked by false assurances and marginalized poets, artists, intellectuals, students, workers and employees who contributed to the state movement.
Listing the Congress government’s achievements in its first year in power, Goud said the Telangana Talli statue unveiled on December 9 was culturally reflective. BRS was critical of its presence but did not acknowledge its importance, he said.
Goud accused BRS working president KT Rama Rao of making baseless allegations at the Congress initiative.
