Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi starrer Ramayana is one of the most anticipated Hindi films of the next few years. KGF actor Yash will also be seen in the role of Ravana in the mythological drama. While the film has been in the news for months, the makers have not officially revealed the cast. A few months ago, some pictures of Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Lara Dutt and Arun Govil from the sets of the film were leaked online. In an interview, casting director Mukesh Chhabra revealed that although it was a challenge to find the right actor to play the role of Laxman in the film, he finally found a suitable actor. Now, actor Ravi Dubey has confirmed his involvement in the film.
Recently, speaking to Connect Cine, Ravi Dubey also shared his experience of working with Ranbir Kapoor, whom he called “the only commercially viable actor of this generation”. Ravi Dubey confirmed his relationship with the film and said, ‘I am playing the role of Laxman in the film. Finally I have permission from the producers to reveal this. I didn’t talk about all this because I didn’t want to make irresponsible statements and spoil Namit (Malhotra) and Nitesh sir’s plans to reveal the cast.
Ravi Dubey is sharing the screen with Ranbir Kapoor for the first time. Speaking about the actor, Ravi said, “He is like the elder brother I never had.” He added, “He’s kind, warm, he’s the most impeccable professional I’ve ever met. This is the first time working with a megastar like Ranbir Kapoor and his kindness, empathy, silence and grace towards everyone (is flawless).

Ravi said that Ranbir works very hard behind the scenes but it all seems effortless. He said, ‘Whenever he’s in front of the camera, you can see he’s into it. He is the only professional, viable artist of this generation.
Earlier, speaking to Ranbir Allahbadia, Mukesh Chhabra had shared that casting Laxman’s character proved to be a difficult task as established actors were not willing to play second fiddle to Ranbir.
He said, ‘It was the last role we played. We have chosen a young actor who has done a lot of work on television; He is a lovely man. We couldn’t find a better Laxman. I’m so glad that the people we initially approached all said no. Two or three people said no, because they think that Rama and Lakshmana should always be together. But I am very happy with the actor we have gone with, this will be his first film in Bollywood.
Ranbir Kapoor will play the role of Lord Ram while Sai Pallavi will be seen in the role of Sita. The film will be released in two parts. The first part will be released in 2026 and the second part in 2027. According to reports, Sunny Deol will play the role of Lord Hanuman. However, there has been no response from the actor or the producer.
