The Supreme Court is looking for 31 Court Master (Shorthand), 33 Senior Personal Assistants and 43 Personal Assistants.
Court Masters will be paid 67,700 per month. Senior Personal Assistant and Personal Assistant will get 47,600 and 44,900 per month respectively.
Court Masters complete a number of assignments each day to ensure that the court runs smoothly. One such task is checking whether judicial documents are correct. Another is instructing other court staff.
Those who want to become court masters and apply for positions in the Supreme Court must be proficient in shorthand – a method of rapid writing using abbreviations and symbols – which helps in taking dictation. They should also have a writing (shorthand) speed of at least 120 words per minute in English.
Candidates should also have a computer typing speed of 40 words per minute. Further, they should have a law degree and a minimum of five years of experience as a private secretary, senior private assistant or senior stenographer in the public sector.
To become a court master, candidates have to pass a computer typing test at a speed of 40 words per minute, a shorthand English test at a speed of 120 words per minute and an objective type test with 100 questions. 100 Questions – Multiple Choice Paper containing 50 General English Questions, 15 General Aptitude Questions, 25 Questions related to Knowledge in Law. and 10 general knowledge questions. They need to score at least 15 marks out of 30 in the interview to get the post. Candidates will have 45 minutes to transcribe and are allowed to make “maximum errors” of 5 percent of the total words written during the exam.
