“BJP leaders do not know who Gandhi is. How will they know who is fake Gandhi?” Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said in Belagavi on Wednesday.
He was responding to reporters’ questions about BJP MP Jagdish Shettar’s criticism of Gandhi Bharat as a waste of public funds by the Congress, which celebrated by inviting fake Gandhis.
“BJP leaders do not believe in the values โโof equality, social and economic equality, fraternity, truth and non-violence preached and practiced by Gandhi. They do not even know what his contribution to the freedom movement is. That is why they make such meaningless comments. Such comments deserve no response, He said.
Asked whether the Congress would see an organizational change after the Congress Working Committee meeting, Mr. Siddaramaiah said change was a continuous process in the party.
‘The situation today is not the same as it was a century ago. There are many changes in political and other areas,โ he said.
He reviewed the arrangements being made for Gandhi’s India at various places. He also visited the venue where the Khadi Mela will be held from Thursday to January 4 at the Sardar High School grounds. He said that Gandhi Bharat is celebrated throughout the year and the festival is not limited to two days.
He said that the goal is to spread his ideology throughout the state.
