Security forces recovered 3.6 kg of explosives from under a bridge in Manipur’s Churachandpur district, the army said in a statement on Wednesday.

In a joint operation, the Assam Rifles and Manipur Police Explosives were recovered from Lesang village on the Imphal-Churachandpur route.

Spear Corps in a post on X said, “Acting on specific intelligence on the presence of IEDs in General Area Lesang Village, Churachandpur District, #Manipur, #AssamRifles formation under #SpearCorps and @manipur_police conducted a joint search operation and recovered 3.6 kg explosives.” Detonators, cordtex and other goods under bridge Imphal-Churachandpur route.

It is said that a bomb squad has been deployed to dispose of the bomb.

According to the police, on Tuesday, the security personnel recovered one loaded gun with one M-16 magazine, four SBBL country guns, one revolver and bullets from Moljol village in Churachandpur district.
