MP Shrikant Shinde has announced to help Vinod Kambli with fever and stable condition of 5 lakhs in the hospital

Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli, who was admitted to the ICU of a private hospital in Thane district, had fever on Tuesday (December 25, 2024), but his condition is stable, the doctors involved in his treatment said on Tuesday.

Mr Kambli (52) is responding to treatment for a urinary tract infection for which he was admitted to Aakriti Hospital near Bhiwandi city on Saturday (December 21), Dr Vivek Trivedi told PTI.

Doctors had planned to do an MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) on ​​the former Indian batter, but a non-invasive medical procedure would be decided later as he had a fever, he said.

Dr. Trivedi said that an MRI procedure was necessary after a series of medical tests conducted earlier showed a clot in his brain.

He said that it is likely that Kambli will be moved out of the ICU within a day or two and will be discharged after four days.

He said that the former Mumbai cricketer was in a critical condition four days ago when he developed a urinary infection due to urine accumulation. During his admission to the hospital, the urine was removed.

Stating that his condition will become complicated if he stays at home for a few more days, Dr. Trivedi said that when he was brought to the hospital, his blood pressure also fluctuated.

The doctor informed that his condition is now stable.

“His condition will be closely monitored for the next 24 hours and a decision will be taken to shift him out of the ICU,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Shrikant Shinde Foundation, run by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and his MP son, has stepped forward to support Kambli.

On the direction of Eknath Shinde, his Special Duty (OSD) Mangesh Chiwte visited the hospital to inquire about the health condition of the former cricketer, an official statement issued by the Deputy Chief Minister’s office in Thane said on Tuesday night.

Mr. Chiwte also engaged the doctors at the hospital to ensure that Mr. Kambli received the best possible care during his treatment.

Kalyan Lok Sabha MP Shrikant Shinde, son of Eknath Shinde, has announced financial support of Rs 5 lakh to Kambli. It is mentioned in the statement that this support will be provided through the Dr. Srikanth Sinde Foundation in the coming week.

Also, OSD Chiwte said that Shrikant Shinde assured Kambli and his family more support in the future.

Mr. Kambli expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the sensitive leadership of the state, especially Thane District MLAs Eknath Shinde and Srikant Shinde for their support and concern. The former cricketer expressed his desire to personally meet the Deputy Chief Minister to thank him for his assistance in his time of need, the statement said. Eknath and Srikanth Shinde are expected to visit him at the hospital soon, it said.
