Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) executive president KT Rama Rao urged the farming community to oppose the state government’s plan to cheat by denying investment support under Rithu Bharosa Yojana.
In an open letter addressed to the farming community on Sunday, Mr. Rama Rao demanded investment support for all landed farmers. He accused Chief Minister A Revant Reddy of not making any commitment on Rithu Bharosa and diverting attention by addressing unrelated issues.
He claimed in a brief debate in the Legislative Assembly on Saturday that the Congress government had hinted at adopting the Prime Minister-Kisan guidelines to implement Rithu Bharosa, leaving out how many farmers would be eligible for the central scheme and its benefits.
Terming the state government’s allegation that over Rs 22,000 crore of Rithu Bandhu Fund was diverted to real estate and stone crushers as a disinformation campaign to boost the previous BRS government, Mr. Rama Rao said it was an insult to farmers. He urged the farming community to voice their concerns and challenge the ruling party leaders at the village level, warning that silence could reap permanent benefits.
Mr. Rama Rao assured the farming community that BRS would stand by them and support any voice opposing the government’s move to deny them investment support. He said the BRS regime had in the past deposited Rs 72,000 crore in farmers’ bank accounts as investment support under Ryathu Bandhu and another Rs 28,000 crore as crop loan waiver.
