All India Veerashaiva Mahasabha (ABVM) President Shamanur Sivashankarappa has strongly condemned the alleged derogatory remarks made by CT Ravi, MLC, about Women and Child Development Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar.

Mr. Shivashankarappa, also a Congress MLA, issued a statement urging the government to take necessary legal action against Mr. Ravi.

“It is clear that Mr. Ravi used abusive language towards Mrs. Hebbalkar. Women are given a special place and respect in Indian culture. But Mr. Ravi insulted her. The use of unparliamentary language is a black mark in the history of the House. The Mahasabha strongly condemns the use of such abusive language, He said in a statement.

The proof is: Chief Minister

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, speaking in Kalaburgi on Sunday, said there was audio and video evidence to prove that Mr. Ravi had used invective against Ms. Hebbalkar in the Legislative Council on December 19.

‘We are investigating as this is considered a criminal offence. Mr. Ravi, why are you demanding a judicial investigation? Mr. Siddaramaiah was surprised. “There is audio and video evidence of him using abusive language. Many MLCs listened to him. It’s a criminal offense, isn’t it?”
